Spain is one of the finest driving countries in Europe: from the coast roads and mountain villages of the mainland to the volcanic landscapes and coves of the islands. These are our 16 measured and curated scenic drives through Spain. On the islands you drive every loop from your own location; between the cities we take you along the most beautiful route, with the stops already in it.

What we weigh more heavily for a Spanish route: the most beautiful road instead of the fastest, recognisable stops that carry the drive, and honest, measured figures. Every route is measured by us and curated by hand; driving it comes next (July 2026). How we put our routes together.

Frequently asked questions

Which Spanish route suits me?

For a week on an island with a stretch of driving each day, choose an island loop (Mallorca, Ibiza, Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Lanzarote or Fuerteventura); you drive it from your own hotel or villa. If you fly to the mainland and travel from city to city, take a fly-drive route such as Barcelona to Valencia or Malaga to Seville.

Can you drop a rental car in a different city within Spain?

Yes. Within Spain a one-way trip (pick up in city A, drop in city B) is normal and usually free or cheap with the big rental firms. Check the one-way fee in advance. A cross-border drop-off is another matter and often expensive.

Are the routes and exports free?

Yes. Viewing the routes, generating them from your own starting point and exporting to GPX or Google Maps are free, with a small Touren.app mark.
