Cyprus is a driving island in miniature: a green highland down the middle, a coast full of ancient cities and myth around it, and some of the finest winding roads in the eastern Mediterranean between the two. These are our measured and curated scenic drives on Cyprus. The grand loop you drive from your own location; the coast drive from Larnaca turns your arrival into a first afternoon. Cyprus drives on the left and has no tolls.

What we weight more heavily on a Cyprus route: the finest road rather than the fastest, recognisable stops that carry the drive, and honest, measured figures. The routes stay in the Republic of Cyprus, south of the Green Line. Every route is measured by us via OSRM and curated by hand; driving them for ourselves follows (July 2026). To see the finest of the island in a day, choose the grand loop through the Troodos mountains and past Paphos, Kourion and Aphrodite's Rock; you drive it from your own hotel. Landing at Larnaca and want a scenic run to the east coast? Take the coast drive past Cape Greco to Ayia Napa and Protaras.

Do I have to drive on the left on Cyprus?

Yes, Cyprus drives on the left, a legacy of British days. It takes a moment at roundabouts and when merging, but after a few kilometres it feels natural. Signs are in Greek and English, and there are no tolls.
